Privacy Policy
Your privacy is part of the service. Here we explain in plain words what data we collect, why, who we share it with and how you control it.
Who we are and what this policy covers
This policy explains how Aurages ("we") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use the AurMap app, its web version and aurmap.com (the "Service").
We process personal data under the Personal Data Protection Law of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its implementing regulations.
Data we collect
- Account: your mobile number, name and date of birth, plus anything you add to your profile, such as e-mail, photo and preferred language. If your number is not Saudi, we ask for your e-mail to send the verification code there.
- Gender (male or female): asked at sign-up so we can address you properly in messages and notices. You can change it in your profile. We never show it to anyone or share it with businesses.
- Occupation: optional, picked from the Saudi Unified Classification of Occupations at sign-up or in your profile. You can change or remove it at any time.
- Location: with your permission, while you use the app, to show nearby shops and services and to deliver your orders. You can turn location access off at any time in your device settings; some features may then be limited.
- Orders, bookings and service requests: order details, the business, the delivery address or booking time, the order status and your purchase history.
- Points and levels: your points balance, your level and the tasks you completed.
- Content you add: photos, places and edits you suggest, service-request photos, and what you send to the «Ask» assistant by text, voice or photo.
- «Ask» assistant: we do not store your voice recording or your conversation on our servers. They are sent, at the moment you ask, to our AI providers to understand and answer you. Search phrases are kept anonymously (not linked to your account, location rounded to about one kilometre) for no more than one year to improve results.
- Captains (delivery couriers): vehicle and identity details needed for verification, location while online with the app open or during a delivery only, a proof-of-delivery photo when needed, and bank details to pay their earnings.
- Usage and device: device type, operating system, language settings, the notification token, a random install identifier stored only in hashed form to prevent duplicate accounts, and server logs that include IP address. We use no advertising or tracking tools.
- Businesses: for business owners, the business, branches, opening hours and team members.
- Website forms: what you type in sign-up, contact or waiting-list forms, such as name, mobile number, city and message.
Why we use your data
- To run your account and verify your mobile number.
- To show shops, products and offers near you and whether they are open now.
- To complete and follow up orders, bookings and service requests, and to send status notifications.
- To calculate points and levels.
- To address you in the form that suits you, based on the gender you chose.
- To produce aggregated statistics on members’ occupations, gender and cities that never identify anyone; no group smaller than five members is shown.
- To run delivery by AurMap captains: offering orders to the nearest captain, showing their location to the customer only during the delivery, verifying delivery and paying the captain.
- To answer your questions and support requests.
- To protect the Service and its users and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To improve the Service and develop its features.
- To send marketing messages from us or from businesses, only if you agree.
- To comply with the laws and regulations of the Kingdom.
Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of your consent, because it is necessary to provide the service you asked for, to meet a legal obligation, or for a legitimate interest that does not override your rights, within the limits allowed by law.
Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing done before the withdrawal.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while you use the Service and afterwards only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for or to meet legal requirements, then we delete it or make it no longer linked to you.
Security and transfers
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access or use. All data is encrypted in transit.
Some service providers, such as the AI providers, process requests outside the Kingdom. We send them only what is needed to answer your question, as allowed by the Personal Data Protection Law and its regulations.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Law, you have the right to:
- Know how your data is collected and processed, and why.
- Access your data and obtain a copy.
- Correct, update or complete your data.
- Ask for your data to be destroyed once it is no longer needed, subject to legal requirements.
- Withdraw your consent where processing is based on it.
You can use these rights from your account settings in the app or by writing to us. You may also complain to the competent personal-data protection authority in the Kingdom.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Account, then Delete account. Or, without the app, from aurmap.com/en/delete-account.
When you delete it, we destroy your profile data (name, e-mail, gender, date of birth, occupation and photo) and notification tokens, and end your sign-in. Order and payment records are kept, no longer linked to you, for the period financial regulations require.
Children
The Service is meant for adults. If you are under the legal age, use it under the supervision and with the consent of your parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version is published on this page with its date, and we tell you in the app if the change is significant. The Arabic version prevails.
